LOVE JESUS, HATE CHURCH |
NOVEMBER 2008
Love
Jesus, Hate Church
Jesus said, "We
must work the works of Him who sent Me as long as it is day; night is
coming when no one can work." John 9:4
Is This the Change People Were Looking For?
As you know, our nation voted overwhelmingly
this month for "change"— and that change is personified in the form of a
Senator from Illinois, Barack Obama. If Obama is true to his word,
change is exactly what we'll get. He has promised to reverse many of the
Executive Orders Bush signed during his eight year tenure, including the
current ban on embryonic stem-cell research. Plus, as the current
crop of Supreme Court Justices age and begin to retire, he has promised
to appoint Justices that will uphold a "woman's right to choose".
Ah, there's so much he has promised to do.
After all, isn't that what the people wanted?
Change?
But the question I've always had is this: Why did so
many Christians vote for a man and a party that is so committed to the
things the Lord calls an abomination? Where is the Biblical
/Spiritual discernment of the Body of Christ? How can those who
claim to be "children of God" and "joint heirs with Jesus" voluntarily
choose a governmental path that supports the killing of innocent unborn,
or partially born, children? How can those who call themselves
Christians get excited about a man who espouses radical homosexual,
anti-Biblical rights? Think about it. A man who wants to
give sin— sex between two people of the same gender, specific
legal protection. What happened here? Where is the voice and
wisdom of those whose citizenship is not of this world? Where is
the Body of Christ?
One answer may be that those who call themselves
Christian and voted against God's Word are not really members of His
Body— they are not part of the true church. OK, I can buy that.
I can see the whole "wheat and tares" thing. In fact, I have been
seeing that in the so-called church (the well-oiled machine) for years.
That is, after all, one of the reasons I wrote the book,
Love Jesus, Hate Church.
Another answer may be that we, as the Body of Christ,
really don't care about what God cares about. We just don't give a
flip about His righteousness, holiness and coming judgment. Maybe
we've become too enamored with this world and all the bright, pretty,
shiny things it has for us to play with. Maybe. A quick
glance at religious TV, TBN for example, would tend to give you that
impression. Maybe we just don't care. Maybe we've created
our god in our own image and we're pretty happy with how it turned out?
Maybe we're ashamed of the gospel? Maybe we've traded our
birth-right for a lukewarm bowl of porridge? don't know.
But I do know that Jesus had something to say about
these times:
|
"I know your deeds,
that you are neither cold nor hot; I wish that you were cold or
hot. So because you are lukewarm, and neither hot nor cold, I will
spit you out of My mouth. Because you say, 'I am rich, and have
become wealthy, and have need of nothing,' and you do not know
that you are wretched and miserable and poor and blind and naked."

Consider this, Barack Obama voted against a ban of the procedure known
as Partial Birth Abortion.
Do you know why they call it "partial birth"?
Come on, guess.
Because the young child is partially born and then
killed. Why? Because once a little baby is outside the womb,
they then have all the rights that you do to protect their "life,
liberty and pursuit of happiness." But as long as part of them
remains in the womb, even if it is just their tiny head, they become
abortion fodder.
Question: What kind of man, or what kind
of human being for that matter, could vote against a measure to protect
unborn children from this type of horrific death? And what kind of
Christian could vote for a man, or a party, who wants to remove this
protection from little, unborn babies?
Answer: Many of you.
Just to let you know the consequences of what
transpired in our country this past November 4th, I want to include in
this post a primer on Partial Birth Abortion from the Life Research
Institute. It's not pretty, but it's real.

Brenda's Story: In September, 1993, Brenda Pratt Shafer, a
registered nurse with thirteen years or experience, was assigned by her
nursing agency to an abortion clinic. Since Nurse Shafer
considered herself "very pro-choice," she didn't think this assignment
would be a problem. She was wrong. This is what Nurse Shafer
saw:
|
"I stood at the
doctor's side and watched him perform a partial-birth abortion on
a woman who was six months pregnant. The baby's heartbeat
was clearly visible on the ultrasound screen. The doctor
delivered the baby's body and arms, everything but his little
head. The baby's body was moving. His little fingers were
clasping together. He was kicking his feet. The doctor
took a pair of scissors and inserted them into the back of the
baby's head, and the baby's arms jerked out in a flinch, a startle
reaction, like a baby does when he thinks that he might fall.
Then the doctor opened the scissors up. Then he stuck the
high-powered suction tube into the hole and sucked the baby's
brains out. Now the baby was completely limp. I never went
back to the clinic. But I am still haunted by the face of
that little boy. It was the most perfect, angelic face I have ever
seen." |
THE PROCEDURE: A woman can choose to have a partial-birth abortion
when she is 5-9 months pregnant, and no sooner. This involves
rotating the baby so that its feet will come out first, unnatural in the
first place, delivering everything but the baby's head. The doctor
then takes a large pair of scissors and inserts them into the back of
the baby's head, pressing through the skull. He opens the scissors
making a hole. Then inserts a suction tube into the hole, and
sucks out the baby's brains. The baby is now dead and completely
limp.
Because the baby is 5-9 months, they are nearly full
term, meaning that their brain and heart are nearly fully developed, and
their body parts are just reaching completion. The baby is alive.
They have a heart, they have a heartbeat that is clearly noticed, and
they have a brain. Just because they are unable to speak, does not
mean they are saying no.
Partial-Birth Abortion has been done for years in the
United States, legally. Several bans have gone through the Supreme
Court, but has only been considered, and eventually tossed aside.
These abortions are purely elective. These women
do not get a Partial-Birth abortion for health reasons, but simply
because they changed their mind.
This has to stop.*
We are truly living in troubling times. My guess, the hand of
God's protection is being removed from our land and His judgment is
already starting. Get ready. Prepare. For terrible
times are right around the corner.

The following podcast
presents what I like to call my "personal"
doctrinal statement. It is a statement of what I
believe about the essentials and how that belief impacts
my life.
I guess you could call it my Creed.
It is something that I
believe with all my being, something I am passionate
about, and something I will not compromise on.
What is your Creed? |

You have the dragon, the
devil or Satan being revealed in Revelation 12.
Then we are introduced to the beast from the sea and the
beast from the earth in chapter 13.
And then these chilling words:
|
If
anyone is destined for captivity, to captivity he
goes; if anyone kills with the sword, with the
sword he must be killed. |
Ever wonder what they
mean? |
